Oh Golly gosh! a day of the ol’ in & out and murder mystery. In true dude style I headed to In & Out Burger on Sunset Blvd yesterday for brunch. I was not disappointed, this was fast food at its best, slammed down in a tray, free refills, ominous sauce on the burger and the Californian sunshine beating down as my buddies and I gobbled down the offerings. Marvellous. Fuelled by the hedonistic flavours of the ol’ in and out we hurtled our way to Long Beach, ate more lunch and then did a Superman style change of clothing in the back of our ride and emerged Swans fit for murder. The Romantic riverboat was the evenings vessel of choice complete with steering wheel, luxurious interior and trepidatious audience the murder mystery riverboat set sail. Upon boarding the ship we were asked to choose and alias complete with back story and attitude we got into character. My alias for the evening was Phillis Stien the abstract artist from London. We sat down to our 3course meal castings suspicious glances at our fellow diners when suddenly a woman was stabbed! we were then given the opportunity to interrogate some of our fellow diners and of course I immediately aroused suspicion, accused of having a phony British accent I was definitely on some people’s shortlist!
…shortly after the murder the detectives entered and found a couple of clues, between the clues and following 3 murders we ate our meal and stood on deck gazing on the moonlight on the high seas. I have to admit that jet lag kicked in around half way through the evening and I didn’t really know who had done what, I ended up accusing the guy sat next to me (who did in fact turn out to be one of the actors in the show!) because he had shifty eyes. Despite my jet lag induced confusion it was an AMAZING night.
Big thank you to Marc for such kind hospitality!
