After three months of travelling through America we have reached our final destination of New York City. It’s been a blast, words escape me, it’s hard to express how much fun, love, excitement and joy we have encountered along the way.
We spent yesterday in Manhattan staying on the Lower East Side at The Marcel at Gramercy Boutique Hotel which was comfortable and gave us a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city and was close enough to the East River for me to go for a run, the sunset over the river was incredible. After a great nights sleep we headed out into the city for a spot of shopping, a nap in Central Park and sushi.
There’s something I’ve always loved about New York in summer. The atmosphere is alive and the city attacks the senses with the sounds, smells and action. There will always be a special place in my heart for New York city, so many happy memories of living out here as a young undergraduate interning for the amazing Maria Cornejo, running around like a crazy person to fabric sellers, buying trims, working in the studio space on Mott Street and loving every second, those long summer nights down at Rudy’s bar, $3 pitchers, free popcorn, partying with Johnny Knoxville and Broadways finest with my BFFF Twinny. We walked up past Times Square and headed to Central Park for a lazy afternoon napping in the sunshine.
It’s labour day weekend so we shall be hanging out with our lovely friends and enjoying all that New York has to offer before flying back to Europe on Sunday! A HUGE thank you to Theresa for her eternal love and support and for nominating The Fabulous Times for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award.
In order to spread the love there are 4 rules. Firstly, you must link back to the blogger that nominates you, secondly, share the image above. Thirdly you must share 7 facts about yourself; so here goes:
1. I love America 2. I’m very excited about going to Rhythm Riot Festival on 16th November with my BFF’s, 3. I am running the Berlin Marathon in October and i’m becoming more and more nervous 4. I love drawing and painting and aspire to dedicate more time to pursuing both 5. I’d love to learn more about cars and qualify as a mechanic 6. I am a complete hippie 7. One day I hope to have a Harley Davison and hit the road again with my sister, watch this space!
The 4th rule is that you must share 5 blogs that you love and let them know about it. These are the blogs I absolutely love and could always feel inspired when I read them:
