Halloween is upon us, hoorah! If you’re thinking of throwing a party or staying in and cooking up a spooky feast, I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite Halloween treats . My beautiful, creative and inspiring sister is responsible for these beauties! You’ll notice the emphasise on ‘simple’ treats, these are all super simple and fun to make, have a fabulously frightening impact at any Halloween dinner table and they taste pretty incredible too.
Boonana Lollies: Theresa whipped up these Boonana Lollies to share with her new classmates, of course I had to sample them first. To make: peel the banana, remove any string bits and cut in half, Insert a lolly stick or coffee stirrer into the cut end of the banana, cover with some plastic wrap and pop it into the freezer until frozen, this usually takes 2 to 3 hours. Melt a large bar or two depending on how many lollies you want to make, cover the frozen bananas pops with the melted chocolate, the easiest way to this is with a butter knife. Add your chocolate chips for the eyes and place back in the freezer until ready to eat. The white chocolate goes frozen and hard, when you bite into the banana it’s all soft and delicious inside. Simple, spooky and delicious.Screaming Strawberries- Super easy to make and visually frightening. Theresa made these spooky Strawberries dipped in white Chocolate. To make: simply melt a pan of white chocolate, dip in your whole freshly washed strawberries. Once your strawberry is covered in delicious white chocolate lay it out on a tray and prepare to draw the spooky face, get a couple of chocolate chips the for eyes and draw on the screaming mouth with melted dark chocolate. Freeze for five minutes. The perfect devilish desert. Is it dinner time yet?
