In true Fabulous Times tradition I wanted to share a mini festive photo diary and wish you all a happy holidays from our family to yours…
On Christmas Eve Gina & Isaac paid us a visit as well as my parents and sister Terry for a little buffet, to exchange gifts and share a few laughs. We had our annual photo taken in front of the Christmas tree, we’ve done this every year since Isaac was born, it’s funny to see how much he’s grown and how long my hair has grown (think it’s time for a new profile pic)!!
This year Mr T & I hosted the Christmas day shenanigans at our place in the Northern Quarter, Manchester. It was our first ever Christmas as newlyweds! At the start of 2016 we also adopted a little cat called Pickle, so it was Pickles first Christmas in our home so we were very excited to have everyone round to celebrate. (You can keep up with Pickles adventures over on Instagram @thetaleofgingerandpickle)
As we’ve done in previous years we shared the preparations and cooking between everyone, so it’s way more fun and helps to avoid that Christmas afternoon meltdown. You can read my ‘5 Tips for preparing for Christmas’ if this year has left you feeling wiped out, it may help. On Christmas Day I wore my new Uma sequin dress from Joanie Clothing, sparkles so perfectly next to the fairy lights.
After a morning visit to the Cathedral we partake in the Christmas brunch buffet (made by sister Terry), whilst grazing on the buffet we begin the present giving ceremony, which usually involves one of us on the floor under the tree handing out presents and cards. Mr T and I made our parents luxe photobooks with our wedding pictures in from photobox, they really are beautiful quality– so impressed with how they turned out.
This year I made everyone a Christmas stocking and each of us, I mean Santa filled them with a little something. Mr T got this lovely pineapple bauble from Oliver Bonas, love it. Following the gift giving ceremony a few of us had a little nap whilst Mother and I began the dinner preparations.
Terry’s bf Damien brought the Christmas crackers and made a beautiful starter. Mr T and I made the main course with help from Mother as sous chef and Mum and Dad brought the desert, dinner was a real team effort and most triumphant!! Needless to say, following dinner we all KO’d in front of Only Fools and Horses. A real classic Christmas.
Hope you’ve all enjoyed a happy Christmas filled with love, laughter and lots of lovely food.
