If we have a summer like last year, then we’re in for a good one. We were blessed with so many long summer nights and glorious days. You don’t want to let that time go to waste. It helps to spend a little time reflecting on last year and imagine what you’d have done differently? Then try and make sure that you’ve got everything in place for this coming summer. Maybe you’d wish you’d got that BBQ, a hot tub or just spent more time outdoors in nature?
There are a few simple things you can do to get ready for summer as best as you possibly can. Keep on reading to find out more about what I am hoping to achieve as well as a few ways you can start to get ready for summer.
Get Fit & Active
For me, one of the things I keep thinking about is getting my running shoes on again and actually going for a jog. Getting fit and active plays such a big part in how I feel, my general mood and overall mental outlook on life. Currently I’m swimming and doing yoga weekly but with summer on it’s way, I’d love to be outside more- so jogging would be perfect.
It can be so hard to motivate yourself sometimes, but there are lots of great personal training apps and fitness Instagram accounts, so developing a personal workout routine that is right for you has really never been easier.
I love summer, the hot weather means you just pop on a summer dress and sandals then- voila! Summer is the best time of year for dressing up and feeling good about yourself. There are only a few simple investment pieces you need for your summer wardrobe. I’m currently looking to invest in some summer sandals, they are the main item that I just live in all summer long, so choosing the right ones is a big decision. The other item is a small jacket suitable to wear with summer dresses, I’ve got my eye on the Original Levis Trucker Jacket.
Getting Your Home Ready
Next step is your home, because your home is without a doubt going to be the hub of your fun over summer! There are certain things that you might have wished you’d had last summer, that you could start planning now. Maybe you wished you’d had a BBQ or a hot tub in the garden? I wish we’d had festoon lighting on our balcony last summer, so I keep looking for the right lights. It’s always good to look at websites such as NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, and see what items you can get discounted. You could get garden furniture at a discount price, which could potentially save you a lot of money. Now the garden or balcony is where you’ll want to spend all of your time, so think about sprucing it up with a few choice plants and beautiful summer flowers!
Getting Your Plans Ready
There’s no time like the present to start making plans for the summer. You could plan nights away in different cities, beach days, and whatever else it is that you and your friends, or your family, might like to think of! We keep saying how much we love visiting the seaside and how much we loved out trip to Beaumaris last summer, so keep looking for new places to visit on the Welsh Coastline.
Just a few things to be thinking about to get yourself ready for summer! I’m excited already.
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”- F.Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
