It wouldn’t be summer without a knock out pair of sunglasses; it’s about that time of year when I get to thinking about what my next choice piece of eyewear will be. Here are a few fabulous sunglasses for summer and my top 3 sunglasses for 2015. It doesn’t even need to be sunny to don a pair of shades, a late night or long week is excuse enough, surely? Sunglasses look fabulous whatever the weather.
Top Catwalk Trends in 2015
The catwalks have produced some incredibly fabulous eyewear trends this year, designers such as Stella McCartney, YSL and Victoria Beckham all showcased some fabulous designs. For those of you vintage lovers you’ll know that stars of the silver screen have always been bastions of the perfect eyewear: Marilyn Monroe favoured Ray-Bans, nowadays you’ll see them on the face of Harry Stiles, Rita Ora likes Miu Miu, and Reese Witherspoon has been papped wearing Stella Mc Cartney, but top of the super-duper fabulous designer eyewear list has to be Lanvin.
#1 Lanvin Sunglasses
Lanvin is the oldest of the French fashion houses. The brand is synonymous with quality, so investing in a pair of Lanvin sunglasses is never going to be a bad decision. The 2015 Lanvin range of designer sunglasses is very much on-trend. Discerning customers can choose from sexy cat-eye styles, aviators, classic wayfarers and oval frames. My all time favourite for 2015 are the Lanvin Catseye frames.
Ray-Ban aviator shades are an all-time classic look for men and women. There are lots of iconic styles to choose from, including retro frames in gunmetal and black, gradient lenses, but my hot second favourite sunglasses choice for 2015 are the Ray-Bans wayfarer wood effect frame, they look just as classic and timeless as the tortoise shell.
#3 Miu Miu Sunglasses
The Miu Miu brand is an off-shoot of Prada and is well known for its gorgeous high fashion clothing line and swoon-worthy eyewear. Miu Miu designer sunglasses are much beloved by “celebrities” and if you ever check out who’s wearing what, you are sure to spot a pair of Miu Miu shades. The 2015 range of Miu Miu sunglasses is particularly impressive this year. My favourite from Miu Miu has to be the 1970’s style large glasses with glitter frame in pastel coloures.
You don’t even need to spend a fortune if you covet a pair of Lanvin, Miu Miu or Ray-Bans. There are lots of bargains to be had when shopping online. But do make sure that the sunglasses you buy are genuine; many cheaper ones are imitations and don’t have the correct UV protection for your eyes.
Let the sunshine!
