Create Your Work Sanctuary
- Tell us a little bit about what you do…
I’m Becky, and I help home-working female business owners to create a workspace that fully aligns with their personality and business vision, in order to maximise their financial success and enjoyment!
I passionately believe that owning your own business should be FUN. You spend many hours working on our business from a home office, so it’s super important to create a space that you enjoy being in. A workspace that is full of what brings you joy, energetically balanced and designed to keep you on track for success.
I offer a 4-week Work Sanctuary virtual programme to guide and empower clients to create a space that is in better alignment with themselves and their business vision for success. It’s a mixture of feng shui, success habits and effectiveness coaching to become more purposeful and intentional in every way as a business owner!
I also support female business owners in my free Facebook group – ‘Feng Shui Your Way To Success’ with challenges, live expert guidance and feng shui top tips.

- What are three top tips for anyone looking to create a work sanctuary from home?
Create Clarity
To create a sanctuary for your best work, you need to truly understand yourself as a business owner. Connecting with your purpose, your vision for success and how you work best to achieve this. Then creating a space to align with this picture.
See Your Space As An Extension Of Your Business
When you work from home, there are many challenges and one common issue that arises with my clients is not connecting with the space they are using. Working from home is a privilege and we are fortunate to have our very own space that (most of the time) we can personalise and tailor how we choose. So I challenge my clients to consider that their space is an extension of their business, not just another room in their home. So use it wisely!
Create A Power Wall
Alongside the feng shui guidance, I passionately believe every business owner must have a Power Wall within their workspace. This is essentially all of your juicy business vision and goals visually represented in your workspace. I encourage everyone to move this from their notebook to their walls for daily visual cues, to support more purposeful and intentional days!

Things To Avoid
- What are three things to avoid when creating your work sanctuary?
Avoid The Poverty Position
Avoid sitting with your back facing the doorway! Many people ‘optimise the floor space’ by placing their desk against a wall or a window.
However, in feng shui practice, energy flows through the door. So if you are facing away from the doorway, there will be heightened brain activity as your subconscious feels threatened and unsupported facing the wrong direction. You may feel distracted, unfocused and will procrastinate while you work.
By turning your desk around and seeing the door (not in direct line of the energy flow), you will notice a significant shift in your body, mind and productivity.
Get Rid Of Clutter
Your home may be organised and clean, but there may be possessions in your workspace that are deemed as ‘clutter’.
In your work sanctuary, anything that doesn’t align to your business vision for success is cluttering your space. And cluttering your mind!

Discard any unwanted documents, books that don’t bring you joy, office stationery that is never used (hello stapler!!), alongside non-business things that deserve a space elsewhere in your home.
Ditch Vanilla
Avoid anything that is mediocre. Everything in your space should be intentionally placed to invoke positive and success emotions that will support your business journey.
If anything has a negative or so-so vibe, remove from your workspace! No place for vanilla when you are creating your very best and most creative work as a business owner!
Overcome Negative Work Habits
- What are the most common mistakes you find your clients making and how do you work to overcome these habits?
Avoiding their workspace. I was there once before too – choosing to work from my dining room table instead of a designated space. Although spending time and energy on creating a dream space may not seem like a priority or essential for your business, I teach clients that it is a foundation to get right to support you every day in your business. You will create a sanctuary free from distractions, a space that supports your positive and focused mind-set, and it helps to create transitions between work/home life (as you know longer physically leave the house and transition!).
Prioritising our environments as much as we do our energy and mind-set is key. And very often neglected!
- How can our environment best support our goals?
Our environment already has an impact on our mood, stress-levels and productivity. Our subconscious mind picks up EVERYTHING that is happening around us, 100% of the time. So if you are ready to align your environment with your goals, connect the two together. Connect with the emotions and feelings of your space.
Firstly, ask yourself how you feel working in your current workspace. Then, connect with your vision for success (your purpose, your 10 year goals or a vision board) and ask yourself, how do I WANT to feel working in my current workspace towards those goals. Start to tweak your environment to support and create the emotions and feelings you want to feel to create your success.
Special thank you to Becky for sharing her inspiring work.
