Finding that perfect Christmas party dress can be difficult territory to navigate, particularly if you love vintage clothing but may not have as much time to dedicate to hitting the vintage shops as you’d like with tying up work commitments and what not before the holidays. Thankfully my newfound love Voodoo Vixen has stress free vintage style covered.
I wore the Voodoo Vixen Ava dress, the sheer lace sufficiently covers the arms, the neckline is very flattering and swing style skirt skims over the hips to create a rather darling silhouette. As the main body is lined it sucks in the waist, which is much needed at this time of year. The red colour in the lace is not only my favorite colour but it makes me feel lovely and Christmassy and matches my comfiest red heels from Evans and lipstick to boot!
I was invited down to MediaCityUK at Salford Quays (the glitzy new headquarters for the BBC) by my BFF Christianne of iloveventsuk blog to attend a rather fabulous soiree at one of MediaCity’s latest venue spaces. Before heading into the party we sauntered around the Victorian Christmas Market, lapping up the festive atmosphere (and bought handmade fudge, sshhh).
Heading into the party we were handed a glass of Cranberry Juice (non-drinkers alert) on a sugar high we burst into an impromptu photoshoot in the gallery space. Christianne wore one of her favourite Tara Starlet dresses.
We sat down and enjoyed a Christmassy 3-Course meal, including an Alan Partridge-esque delicious Chocolate Mousse and enjoyed Magicians entertaining us at the table. The venue was floor to ceiling glass windows with views over Salford Quays. It was a real treat to see MediaCityUK at night all lit up, Hong Kong Harbour eat your heart out.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
