We had a fabulous launch party for my Dad’s new art exhibition. I wore my new House of Foxy 1950’s style party dress (which got lots of compliments). Inspired by true vintage fashion, House of Foxy make their full range in Great Britain and put their emphasis on quality and fit, which really shows.
I just love 1950’s style frocks, they’re so flattering, timeless and comfortable, the cut, movement and silhouette just make you feel so effortlessly elegant. Wether it’s a repro frock, vintage or thrifty charity shop find, I just love the 1950’s style!
We gathered with family and friends at the Koffee Pot in Manchester’s Northern Quarter to see my Dad’s latest work, enjoy a few drinks and laughs. Here are a few pictures from the party and a little gushing over my new House of Foxy dress…
I was so pleased receiving my gorgeous bright red vintage wrap circle dress in a pretty box wrapped with tissue paper. Lifting the dress out of the box the fabric is reassuringly heavy rayon with a slight stretch, such nice quality with a texture that feels like moss crepe. Looks like true beautiful quality vintage, perfect for a party!
I love the grown on batwing sleeve it’s so comfy and allows for maximum movement (handy if you happen to punch the air a lot like me) the sleeve also has a flattering pleat detail on the upper arm which means the fabric falls over the upper arm and doesn’t cling like so many dresses these days. The bust is a wrap sweetheart, which would be perfect for any of you ladies blessed with a larger bust.
The House of Foxy wrap circle dress is cut beautifully to flatter a womanly figure, the fabric drapes generously over those lumps and bumps and moves with a beautiful swish when sashaying around the party and allows plenty of room for cake.
There’s nothing as lovely as a full circle dress, they move so well when worn. You could wear a petticoat with this dress but I would say just let the fabric fall naturally, let your curves create that lovely silhouette > alert- obligatory toilet selfie below<
If you have a Christmas party coming up I’d highly recommend the House of Foxy range if you’re looking for quality frocks that flatter the figure and style that will turn heads and stand the test of time. We had so much fun celebrating my Dad’s work and raising some money for the Barnabus Homeless Charity. Thank you to everyone that joined us, if you missed it my Dad’s exhibition will be gracing the walls of Koffee Pot until the new year.
