Hope you’re all managing to stay warm and safe out there! I thought I’d share a little outfit post featuring my weekend wardrobe style and a few pictures from our walk this weekend (before Storm Emma hit!). This outfit pretty much sums up my go-to weekend wardrobe staples…Stripes for life: As I pretty much live in stripes of some form or another, I naturally love this lightweight comfy Ivory & Navy Sweater style from Tobi. The relaxed fit of this top is perfect for layering up on weekend walks and you really can’t beat a classic nautical ivory and navy stripe. I have a tendency to wear my top pretty oversized as I find it much more comfortable and think it looks a bit more relaxed than anything too tight.
Thermals? errr always: With the weather in England being pretty darn cold (understatement) and winter never quite turning into spring, I’m still living in thermals! I swear by thermals and honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. My favourite thermal vest is the scoop neck style from M&S The scoop neck thermals are (in my humble opinion) actually pretty cute and have a delicate pointelle design within the fabric so look good on their own or layered up with whatever else you have on.
Wellies are essential: Most weekends we strive to go our for a walk as a family and get some much needed fresh air, escape city life and stretch our legs. Some weekends it’s super muddy so I pretty much live in my Hunter Wellies. I chose the Hunter Tall Gloss Wellington Boots in Dark Olive, I love that they look pretty traditional but the high gloss makes them, just that little bit fabulous.
Wax Jacket ways: Watching Dame Helen Mirren play The Queen deeply impacted my outdoor wardrobe goals. I pretty much went out straight away and picked up a vintage Barbour Jacket from Portobello Market. I got the Beadnell Classic Barbour Wax Jacket and have been rocking it ever since. The Beadnell Wax Jacket is an absolute classic and has served me well over the years, I love the dark olive colour (it also looks fabulous with a headscarf a la Helen Mirren as The Queen).
Sunglasses for sure: If you’re lucky enough to get a bright day it pays to be prepped with a good pair of sunglasses. I adore my Rebecca Minkoff Tortoise Shell sunglasses and always go back to them despite trying other styles. Following our walk we pretty much always head to Henry C’s, our favourite brunch place for a coffee and a bite to eat.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my weekend wardrobe style and sharing in a few of my favourite essentials. What weekend wardrobe pieces could you not live without?
Stay fabulous
Christine
