Happy Father’s Day to all you lovely Dad’s out there! This post is dedicated to my Dad otherwise known as typographic artist Patrick Macaulay and DJ Mad Dawg at Pheonix fm. How will you be spending your Father’s Day this year? We’re limited to a Skype conversation this year as we are out here in Portland, Oregon so in honour of my ever lovin’ Pappa I thought I’d share with you 10 things my Father has taught Me and some vintage pictures of my Dad back in the 50’s (pre- beard!)
1. To be myself. 2. That adventure is always possible. 3. Not to judge others. 4. That it is cool to be different.
5. Not to take life too seriously. 6. To enjoy the smallest things in life, everyday. 7. To be fearlessly creative. 8. To be considerate. 9. That there is always time for laughter. 10. To work hard at what I love.
Our Dad has always been a huge inspiration to my siblings and I and has been there for us every moment of everyday since we were brought into this fair old World. He is a comical wizard, creative powerhouse and the greatest, kindest, loving coolest dude to ever live (don’t mean to make you blush Dad). There’s not a day goes by when I don’t consider how lucky I am to have such a wonderful Father. When he’s not busy playin’ Rock ‘n’ Roll and being hilarious my Dad creates the greatest artwork. To see my Dad’s amazing artwork you should swing by his website HERE. For commissions and price requests, just drop him an email.
Thanks Pappa, we love you.
