Welcome to The Fabulous Times new website!
Back in January I shared a post on Facebook which read ‘2020 a year for change’ it’s a statement that proved prophetic.
Am I an oracle? A LOT has indeed changed so far this year. Some changes have been for the better, some not so much.
As the office shut, events were cancelled, planes grounded, and silence fell over the city. I convinced myself that I’d MANIFESTED TOO HARD. I dreamt of the pedestrianisation of the city centre, had talked about how great it would be if everyone worked from home a bit more and wondered what it would be like if the shops all shut, just for a moment.
I planted some seeds as lockdown began. Around us our neighbours have been gardening feverishly, together we have clapped for our carers, exchanged knowing nods across our balconies. Perhaps this forced isolation will bring us closer together I wonder?
Meanwhile the virus rages in the lungs of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, bringing families to their knees, unjust like the hatred that stopped an innocent man from breathing in Minneapolis on the 25th of May. Newspapers draw parallels between The Great March on Washington in ’63 and the current protests. Bob Dylan sang of change, thousands united against racial hatred and the hippies protested for love not war, for mother nature, for peace.
Amidst the surrounding uncertainty and unfolding unrest, those tiny seeds have grown tall, strong and healthy. Struggling through the soil, faces firmly towards the sunshine with the drive of unencumbered life force. To flower and stand tall. A microcosm if you will, for how we must face change. WE MUST GROW. We must stand for equality, for peace and for our planet.
This is an online space for living consciously, uplifting the voices of change-makers and dreamers. A place to find sustainable living and wellness guidance. I hope you’ll stay for a while, read, comment and perhaps in some small way feel inspired to make a positive change in your life.
