Christmas Crafts: Laura Ashley Blogger Workshop. 25 Bloggers gathered for a spot of Christmas Crafting with Laura Ashley and The Ministry of Craft at the RosyLee Tearooms in Manchester. Wandering in from the cold we were greeted with a cup of tea, few biscuits and soon set to work on our crafty projects.
First up we set to work on a drawstring bag with bunting applique, made using off-cuts from Laura Ashley printed fabric. It was rather therapeutic listening to the low hum of the sewing machines and getting in the zone whipping up a nifty little bag.
After a short break snaffling down a few beef & horseradish Yorkshire pudding canapés and quick cup of tea we set about our paper workshop. I was a little nervous about the paper workshop as I’m much for comfortable working with fabric and have never been patient enough for origami! Luckily the ladies of Ministry of craft helped us every step of the way.
In the paper workshop we made a gift box and fancy bow from Laura Ashley wallpaper off-cuts, we were proud as punch, here’s the lovely Donna from PolkaDot Pink flaunting her creation. I was surprised at how simple it was to make the gift box and bow, they look as if they’d be way more complicated to create.
If you’d like to make your own gift box, box or drawstring bag you can access links to the crafty tutorials on the Laura Ashley blog HERE.
