On a very cold and rainy night in London, rushing from a busy day at work, I dashed across the city to the Laura Ashley #HandmadeChristmas Launch blogger event. Somehow I’d managed to time my journey perfectly, meaning I’d be outside just as the rain started to pour, sorry to say, I failed to pack an umbrella!
As I walked in to Homemade London the lovely Marylebone craft salon looking like a drowned rat, the Laura Ashley team gave me a warm welcome and handed me an elderflower cordial and choice of cake, my shoulders instantly dropped, my feet began do defrost and I shed my soggy layers and sat down to join in the crafty Christmas fun.
The venue was fully decked out in the new Laura Ashley Christmas range, which has tripled in size boasting a huge variety of beautiful decorations, fairy lights, gifts and homeware. A few of my personal favorites are the sleigh fairy lights, the reindeer snow globe and the knitted robin redbreast tree decoration.
Downstairs at Homemade London were three large tables where we gathered around to be shown how to customize stockings, made cards and festive headbands. Before long we cracked on with making our chosen handmade Christmas projects. I opted to customize a Christmas stocking with my initials.
Upstairs were the ladies from Lipstick and Curls who specialize in vintage hair styling. Throughout the night the hair in the room became increasingly higher and a whole load more glamorous as the Lipstick and Curls girls made over our hair with classic styles form the 1940’s/ 50’s and 60’s. I sat down to get my frizzy rain wrecked hair sorted out. I was given a 1940’s style up do with rolls at the front.
We were given a sneak peak at the Laura Ashley winter clothing range including their fabulous range of tweed accessories and classic novelty Christmas jumpers, which I need to invest in.
The Laura Ashley blogger events are always so much fun, combining crafts, beauty, cake and of course the divine Laura Ashley range, from which I’d love pretty much one of everything.
Bring on the most wonderful time of the year!
