With winter approaching and the desire to hibernate ever increasing Mr T and I have been planning a few DIY projects in a quest to redesign our home interior. I thought I’d share a little Master bedroom designer furniture inspiration:
At present our master bedroom is lacking in character and is a little plain. Mr T and I both have fairly eclectic tastes when it comes to furniture and interior design but do favour natural materials and quality and love it when we pick up beautiful antique treasures.
Lighting: as with most conventional homes we have a singular ceiling pendant light, our aim is to upgrade this to a mixture of spotlights, statement pendant light and choice table and floor lamps. We already have a pair of chinoiserie Ralph Lauren lamps with brass detailing that we would like to work our master bedroom design around.
It’s difficult to decide on lighting but this (1) Ralph Lauren floor lamp in natural brass would be perfect for the corner of the room for a bit of ambient lighting. (2) Vinterior currently have this contemporary Lindi Wall Sconce hand crafted Brass reading light that would be fabulous either next to the bed or as a feature above a piece of art. (3) This John Lewis silk oyster drum would be ideal to add a little softness to the ceiling.
Furniture: (1) This elegant Maridain marble top dresser from Viyet would provide great storage for our essentials and go beautifully with our antique wardrobe. (2) In contrast to our antique furniture these brass and green marble bedside tables from Swoon editions with their simple, clean and minimalistic look would compliment our more decorative chinoiserie lamps wonderfully. (3) When it comes to mirrors this 21sy century classic revival wall mirror from Vinterior would be just the ticket for putting make up on and getting ready in the morning.
Flooring and furnishings: Our current flooring cover is a fairly plain grey carpet, I love the idea of laying down a wooden floor stained in a rich varnish. To break up the dark wood I love the idea of either a sheepskin rug or raffia rug, or both! For bedding I’m on the hunt for chioiserie in a dark navy and white to compliment our beloved lamps (totally obsessed with this image I found on pinterest, which is Ralph Lauren I think)
