Last week was super busy for me with work and home life, moving house, designing an entire range meant a couple of sleepless nights and feeling like my head was about to implode. Thankfully I had been invited to my glorious friends Joey & Tilda’s Mulled Disco House-warming extravaganza this weekend in the beautiful Oxford.
Having never visited Oxford before my only reference point was watching endless episodes of Inspector Morse as a child. We got the Oxford Tube (which is actually a coach not a tube, interesting choice of branding) from Victoria Coach station early on Saturday. The coach ticket only cost £14 return booked in advance at megabus.com. I would strongly recommend for anybody to visit Oxford, steeped in history and with a true air of Britishness we had a lovely walk around and marvelled at the cobbled streets and indoor market and finally found a little place to grab a bite to eat at the Jericho Cafe, relaxed vibes, great food, Bob Dylan soundtrack.
Big Thankyou to Tilda & Joey for putting on such a crackin’ festive buffet (highlights included: home-made sausage rolls, incredible homemade quiche, roast chesnuts) and throwing such a wonderful party. We danced all night, slept slightly, then listened to my Dad’s radio show early on Sunday morning. What a hilariously excellent weekend. Just what the doctor ordered.
