A day of family, friends, high tea, scenery and the fabulous Beatrix Potter attraction! We started off at the Beatrix Potter attraction and had a light lunch in the cafe which was ideal, cheese sandwiches and tomato soup washed down with Dandelion & Burdock…waltzed around the Beatrix Potter attraction ogling and squealing with joy at the lovely miniature figures and learning about the stories and history of Beatrix Potter.
Beatrix Potter was an English author, illustrator, natural scientist and conservationist best known for her imaginative children’s books featuring animals such as those in The Tale of Peter Rabbit which was inspired by and celebrated the British landscape and country life of The Lake District where she spent a great deal of her adult life.
Our afternoon followed with scrabble and high tea at The Macdonald Hotel, what a fabulous view of the Lakes! mid afternoon we indulged in our somewhat habitual afternoon nap then up and out for late tea and cake (yes even more, well we are English!) and some real laughs with family and friends.
Oh how joyous. What a wonderful time.
