I’m sat on the train heading from Manchester to London after spending a fun New Years Eve with my homies at Band On The Wall dancing to the legendary Mr. Scruff DJ’in what a treat. Mr Scruff hosts a monthly night playing soul, ska and funky tunes all playing in time with his iconic, stylised illustrations projected on two big screens, the countdown to New Year was phenomenal, Mr. Scruff played the instantly recognisable countdown sound used on 90’s favourite game show Countdown. AMAZING, tea and cake were available (my favourite) and the crowd were so friendly. Manchester is a great city.
To round up what has been a pretty incredible year I thought I’d compile a 12 months in pictures roundup to remind myself how lucky I am and how much I have to be thankful for, eeerrr and how much fun it’s been! o.k here goes:
January- A month of partying and inspirational trip to Paris. We hosted our New Years Mad Men themed party which was an absolute blast (the funniest party of 2011 in my humble opinion) I was also lucky enough to take a trip to Paris with my buddy Ormenator which was super inspiring. Coffee, clothes and jazz.
February- We shot our collection for our transitional lookbook and I got to work with my lovely, inspiring make – up artist friend Nat Sharpe which was a real treat. A month of hard work and also celebrating my lovely brothers birthday and visited my Dad’s new studio.
March- Oh boy! What a spectacular month. I was working out in L.A gathering inspiration, vintage shopping and working hard in our sister office in Calabasas. I also squeezed in time to visit the Cicada Club with my lovely friend the Dynaflos, do my very first Dinner Detective boat cruise and eat the best sushi ever!
April- Thank you to all of you who kindly donated money at our Tea Party in aid of the Japan Disaster. All your donations were greatfully recieved and the decorations donated by Talking Tables made for such a beautiful event.
May- A unusually hot May time in the U.K meant swimming in the lido in London’s Hyde Park, body boarding in Cornwall, the Royal Wedding, and an indulgent trip to the Algarve with the sisterhood, a highly memorable and slightly traumatic seasick filled boat ride (ha we did get our legs washed by a very tall German man though!). I loved wearing the two piece ensemble I designed too, this was my holiday favourite. A nautical themed month all round.
June- A whole month spent in London, this picture shows one of my favourite coral nail, top, lipstick combo. This photo was taken on a day of shopping, cocktails and oysters with my lovely sister. I interviewed my favourite print designer Jessica Williams and did our Spring/ Summer photoshoot in Holland Park.
July- Another amazing month, I celebrated my birthday with a trip to Berlin (I LOVE BERLINA) we had such a fantastic trip to the vibrant, creative city. I was also lucky enough to get to go to The Vintage at The Southbank Festival with my Twin. Oh and not to forget Nat Sharpe’s amazing 30th Tron themed birthday party.
August- I took at trip to Southend on Sea which was a proper British day out, ice cream, rain and glorious sunshine all in one day. I August I also saw Adam Ant live (which was a real treat) went to the Notting Hill Carnival and tried jerk chicken for the first time. and ate at my favourite restaurants in London, The Belvedere.
